Setup your iPhone visual voicemail with the easy instructions below.

What is iPhone Visual Voicemail?

Visual Voicemail allows callers to leave you a voice message when you don’t answer, just like other services.

On an Apple iPhone, the unique feature of Visual Voicemail is that it lets you see a list of your messages and choose which ones to listen to or delete, without having to listen to prior messages or voice instructions. No need to dial to check in to check voicemail messages or to enter a password.

The Phone button on the Home screen shows the total number of missed calls and unheard voicemail messages you have.

Please note: Visual Voicemail uses data. If you use it outside of Canada, you will be charged data roaming rate

Key features:

  • Receive up to 35 five-minute messages and save each one for up to 10 days
  • Record a personalized greeting up to 3 minutes long
  • View total number of missed calls and unheard voicemail messages from the phone button on the home screen of your iPhone.
  • No need to dial to check in to check voicemail messages or to enter a password
  • Listen to your voicemail messages in any order you want
  • A badge on the Voicemail icon indicates the number of unheard messages.

Things to remember about Visual Voicemail:

  • Visual Voicemail will not work if you turn on the Data Block on your iPhone
  • Visual Voicemail does use Data. There are no charges when you are using your iPhone in Canada.
  •  If you use it outside of Canada, you will be charged data roaming rates.
  • You can still access your voicemail if you block data, by pressing and holding “1”

No. Visual Voicemail is available only on Apple devices.

I can hold up to 35 voicemail messages in your inbox. You will need to delete message that are no longer needed in order to clear up space, just as you would with a classic voicemail inbox. If you have 35+ messages in your inbox, new callers trying to leave a voicemail will receive a notification that your voicemail inbox is full and will not be able to leave you a message.
