Activate or change a Physical SIM Card

Change my Physical SIM using the MyRogers app

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers app.
  2. From the Phone tab, select Change SIM.
  3. Click on the phone number that you wish to switch to eSIM. We’ll send a verification code to this number.
  4. Enter the verification code you received and select Confirm code.
  5. Select Physical SIM or eSIM Voucher.
  6. Under Change to Physical SIM, enter the 20-digit number from your new physical SIM card. Select Save and Continue.
  7. Under Review, select Submit. A message confirming that you’d like to continue will appear.
  8. Select Submit again then restart your device to change to the new SIM.

Change my Physical SIM using MyRogers

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers account.
  2. From the Overview tab, select Manage beside the line that you’d like to switch.
  3. From the Device financing payment section, select Manage SIM. The Change SIM screen will appear.
  4. Select Change SIM. We’ll send a verification code to the number that you’ve selected.
  5. Enter the verification code you received on your device, then select Continue.
  6. Under Enter your new SIM card details, select Physical SIM.
  7. Enter the 20-digit SIM number of your new SIM card then select Save and Continue.
  8. Review the details then select Proceed to confirmation.
  9. Restart your device then select Done to activate your eSIM.

When you activate a new line, your SIM card is already activated and ready to use. Insert it into your device to get connected.

If you’re bringing your number from another service provider, you’ll need to take a few more steps to get set up. Learn how to transfer your existing number to Rogers.

The ICCID is the identification number of your SIM card. It’s a unique 20-digit number printed on your SIM card that starts with 89302.

You can also find your SIM card number in your device settings:

iOS:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select About.
  4. Scroll down until you see the ICCID number.

Android:

It’s best to turn off your phone and take the SIM card out. You’ll see the SIM card number on the card itself as most Android devices don’t have a way to find the SIM card number using the phone’s settings.

Activate or change an eSIM

Activate eSIM on a single device

If you’ve got an Android device, activate eSIM using a second device or the MyRogers Portal

  1. Open the MyRogers app on your device.
  2. Select the Phone tab
  3. Select Activate eSIM.
  4. Confirm that your phone number is correct.
  5. Select This device.
  6. Select Activate eSIM now.
  7. Restart your device to complete your activation.

Activate eSIM using a second device

Note: If scanning the QR code doesn’t work then visit a Rogers store to get an eSIM voucher.

  1. Open the MyRogers app on the second device.
  2. Select the Phone tab.
  3. Select Activate eSIM.
  4. Confirm the phone number of the device you want to activate the eSIM on.
  5. Select Generate QR code.

Follow the steps below for your device

Apple

iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, SE (Gen 2) and onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Cellular.
  2. Select Add eSIM.
  3. Scan the QR code that was generated and restart your device to complete your activation

Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S21 series onwards, Samsung Galaxy Note series onwards, Samsung Z Fold/Flip4 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Select SIM card manager.
  3. Select Add eSIM.
  4. Scan the QR code that was generated and restart your device to complete your activation

Google Pixel

Google Pixel 3 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Network & Internet.
  2. Select SIMs.
  3. Select Download a SIM instead.
  4. Select Next then follow the steps on your device.
  5. Select Activate.
  6. Scan the QR code that was generated and restart your device to complete your activation

 

 

Activate eSIM using the MyRogers Portal

 

Note: If scanning the QR code doesn’t work then visit a Rogers store to get an eSIM voucher.

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers account.
  2. Select the phone number on which you want to activate the eSIM.
  3. Select Activate my eSIM to generate a QR code on screen.
  4. Follow the steps below for your device:

iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, SE (Gen 2) and onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Cellular.
  2. Select Add eSIM.
  3. Scan the QR code that was generated and restart your device to complete your activation.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series onwards, Samsung Galaxy Note series onwards, Samsung Z Fold/Flip4 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Select SIM card manager.
  3. Select Add eSIM.
  4. Scan the QR code that was generated and restart your device to complete your activation

Google Pixel 3 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Network & Internet.
  2. Select SIMs.
  3. Select Download a SIM instead.
  4. Select Next then follow the steps on your device.
  5. Select Activate.

Activate eSIM using a Voucher

 

Follow the steps below for your device:

iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, SE (Gen 2) and onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Cellular.
  2. Select Add eSIM.
  3. Scan the QR code on the front of your eSIM voucher. If scanning doesn’t work, enter the number on the back of your voucher.
  4. Restart your device to complete your activation.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series onwards, Samsung Galaxy Note series onwards, Samsung Z Fold/Flip4 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Select SIM card manager.
  3. Select Add eSIM.
  4. Scan the QR code on the front of your eSIM voucher. If scanning doesn’t work, enter the number on the back of your voucher.
  5. Restart your device to complete your activation.

Google Pixel 3 onwards

  1. Go to Settings, then select Network & Internet.
  2. Select SIMs.
  3. Select Download a SIM instead.
  4. Select Next then follow the steps on your device.
  5. Select Activate.
  6. Scan the QR code on the front of your eSIM voucher. If scanning doesn’t work, enter the number on the back of your voucher. Restart your device to complete your activation.

When you activate a new line, your eSIM is already activated and ready to use. Check your closed order or emails for your digital eSIM voucher or QR code and activate it on your device.

Switch to eSIM using MyRogers App

Note: if you have an Android device, switch to eSIM using the MyRogers Portal.

Switch to an eSIM directly on your device

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers App.
  2. From the Phone tab, select Change SIM.
  3. Click on the phone number that you wish to switch to eSIM. We’ll send a verification code to this number.
  4. Enter the verification code you received and select Confirm code.
  5. Select This Device.
  6. Connect your device to WiFi, then select Download eSIM.
  7. You’ll need to install your eSIM before you can switch to it from your physical SIM. Click Activate eSIM then, Continue and follow the instructions on your device.
  8. Once you’re done, you’ll be redirected to the Download eSIM screen. A message confirming that your download was successful will appear. Select Dismiss.
  9. Tap the toggle beside I’ve successfully downloaded my eSIM to my device then, select Continue.
  10. Review the details that appear then click Submit.
  11. A message will appear confirming that you wish to continue. Select Submit to switch to eSIM.
  12. A confirmation will appear to let you know that your SIM has been changed. Restart your device to activate your eSIM

Transfer an eSIM to another device

Make sure you have the device you’d like to activate the eSIM on with you when using the steps below.

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers App.
  2. From the Phone tab, select Change SIM.
  3. Click on the phone number that you wish to switch to eSIM. We’ll send a verification code to this number.
  4. Enter the verification code you received and select Confirm code.
  5. Select Transfer to another device. A QR code will be generated.
  6. Scan the QR code using the device you want to switch to eSIM. Follow the instructions that appear to install eSIM on the device.
  7. Once complete, tap the toggle beside I’ve successfully scanned the QR code with my other device.
  8. Review the details that appear then click Submit.
  9. A message will appear confirming that you wish to continue. Select Submit to switch to eSIM.
  10. A confirmation will appear to let you know that your SIM has been changed. Restart your device to activate your eSIM.

Switch to an eSIM using a Voucher

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers App.
  2. From the Phone tab, select Change SIM.
  3. Click on the phone number that you wish to switch to eSIM. We’ll send a verification code to this number.
  4. Enter the verification code you received and select Confirm code.
  5. Select Physical SIM or eSIM Voucher.
  6. Enter the 20-digit number on the back of your eSIM voucher then select Continue.
  7. Review the details that appear then select Submit.
  8. A message will appear confirming that you want to switch to eSIM. Select Continue to move to the last step.
  9. A confirmation will appear to let you know that your SIM has been changed. Restart your device to activate your eSIM.

Switch to eSIM using MyRogers Portal (online)

  1. Sign in to your MyRogers account.
  2. From the Overview tab, select Manage beside the line that you’d like to switch.
  3. From the Device financing payment section, select Manage SIM. The Change SIM screen will appear.
  4. Select Change SIM. We’ll send a verification code to the number that you’ve selected.
  5. Enter the verification code you received on your device.
  6. Under Enter your new SIM card details, select eSIM, then Continue.
  7. From Change to eSIM, select Scan QR code to generate a QR code on screen or Enter a new eSIM number to enter the number of an eSIM Voucher.
  8. Scan the QR code successfully then select Continue. Note: if you select continue before scanning the QR code, your device will stop working and you’ll need to contact us for help.
  9. Review the details then select Proceed to confirmation.
  10. Restart your device then select Done to activate your eSIM.

What is an eSIM

An eSIM is a digital SIM that lets you activate a mobile plan without having to use a physical SIM card. If your device supports Dual SIMyou can use an eSIM is to allow two lines or more on it.

Can I use an eSIM?

You can use an eSIM if you are on a Rogers mobile plan and have an eSIM compatible device: Enter *#06# on your keypad to see a list of your device information. If you see EID in the list, then your device is eSIM compatible.

How do I get an eSIM?

When you place an order through our portal or website, you can request an eSIM with an eligible device or during a “bring your own device” activation. We will send you the eSIM digitally with completion of your order. Please check your closed order or emails for your eSIM information.

If you are not making an order to include an eSIM with, you can purchase one in any Rogers branded store.

What is Dual SIM?

Dual SIM offers the convenience of having two or more phone numbers on a single device. You can have separate personal and business numbers, or add a second line when travelling internationally.

The phone numbers can be on the same account, on different accounts, or from different carriers.
